The Knowledge of Clairvoyance

As I search the consciousness of those before me
for insights pertaining to their body, speech, and mind,
I directly know their various states of being,
as well as their past, present, and future.
Because a trillion mind moments rise and pass away in the blink of an eye,
and because each mind moment gives birth to the next,
by noticing the overall cycles coming and going in the sentient beings,
I can know their past, present, and future states.
I can see their past lives, present circumstances, and future rebirths,
not out of predestination but out of wisdom of cause and effect,
and by studying each accumulation of cyclic existence,
I know exactly how something happens and when.
Strong states of being give rise to strong states in the future,
and weaker states give rise to weaker states.
Unless a karmic cycle is struck null by opponent factors,
the result is that it naturally gives rise to the corresponding fruit.
As plainly and clearly the eye sees the hand before it,
psychic ability plainly and clearly knows the mind by means of the mind.
The mind, unobstructed and developed through samadhi,
can know events directly, not even inferring them.
In the same way that the mind places its attention on a stable meditation object,
so too does the mind place its attention on another mind.
Just as how the mind experiences stability as a consequence of calm abiding,
so too does the mind experience the thoughts of another sentient being.
If the mind intends to know the heart of another,
then the heart, its mental factors, and its resulting states shall be known.
But without this special deliberation to specifically discern the mental states,
it will be as useless as holding a lamp that is not lit.
In the same way that the deliberation to know the present mind of another is made,
the deliberation to know the mind moments producing that mind can also be decided.
Thus, making a series of decisions to know the mind in its continuum,
knowledge of events come into view.
So too can I know my own mind,
because reading others, I gain clarity pertaining to myself.
With this knowledge, I can see the consequences of my actions
and thus become wise in the ways of karma.
A dream is built not on logic,
but nevertheless possesses a continuity.
So too are the visions of the clairvoyant eye
that knows the production of phenomenon, near and far, past and remote.
Knowledge gained from clairvoyance is different from speculation.
Whereas the latter produces doubt, the former produces confidence.
The feeling is as simple as the mind latching onto a fact,
and the fact bringing utmost clarity.
A block is something that prevents happiness and spiritual development.
By locating these blocks, I help sentient beings overcome them.
It is not by clairvoyance that blocks are overcome, but by knowledge
of good and bad, cause and effect, in other words wisdom and expedient means.
When I concentrate the mind on an object,
and when the object produces the clarified sign,
the mind creates the causes for these abilities while training in ethics,
thus giving rise to all various spiritual penetrations for liberation.
With these wisdom-based powers of spiritual penetrations,
the method of clairvoyance is controlled, stable, and not lost.
Dedicating the sight of the inner faculties to the benefit of others,
I am in turn benefited by my powers, naturally.
